Google announces Cloud Internet Of Things public beta

Today Google is officially announcing and launching public beta of the Cloud Internet Of Things Service. This is a Google scale service, designed for very large, reliable global IOT deployments millions of devices. Since the private alpha launch, industries such as transportation, oil and gas, utilities, healthcare and ride-sharing have used the service and provided insightful feedback.

I am personally working on this project, proud to be a member of this exceptionally talented infrastructure team.

Your data can easily connect to Google's Cloud platforms such as Machine Learning for predictive maintenance analytics, BigQuery for rich analysis, and Analytics for real-time monitoring of the fleet of machines.

Utilities can monitor, analyze and predict consumer energy usage in real time
Transportation and logistics firms can proactively stage the right vehicles/vessels/aircraft in the right places at the right times
Oil and gas and manufacturing companies can enable intelligent scheduling of equipment maintenance to maximize production and minimize downtime"

Pricing

We are also introducing a simple pricing plan based on the volume of data exchanged with Cloud IoT Core. You can register as many IoT devices as you want, and you pay only when the devices connect to and exchange data with Cloud IoT Core. To make it simple to build quick prototypes with just a few devices, we have added a free tier that lets you try the service at no cost.
